Slide the forks into the slots of the hopper until they cannot slide in any further. Fill the dump bucket up with any object or supplies that is to be discarded. Use the "up" lever and lift the dump bucket until it is above eye level so as to ensure visibility. Move frontward until reaching the trash dumpster and afterward raise the hopper until it clears the bin by one or two feet and progress forward until the forklift is touching the outside of the dumpster.
Upon contact with the dumpster the self-dumping hoppers would automatically unload their loads. Traditional hoppers or dump buckets will require the use of a tilt lever in order to angle the prongs downward until they manage a 45 degree angle.
